Name of unknown etymology from the "Atlas Coeli Skalnaté Pleso" of Czech astronomer Antonín Bečvář (1901-1965). It is well possible that it is an abbreviated form of [[Seginus]] which derives from the name of the constellation and emerged from several corrupted translations from Greek to Arabic and from there to Latin.
