Danfeng is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Chinese (Simplified). It is the name of the star HIP 115211 (L 168-9) in constellation Tucana.

Etymology and History

Danfeng (丹凤) refers to the red phoenix, a sacred bird symbolising good fortune in ancient Chinese legend.

Mythology
