Hoggar is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 21109 (HD 28678) in constellation Tau.

Etymology and History

Hoggar is the name of the main mountain range in the Sahara Desert in southern Algeria.
