Sharjah is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 79431 (HIP 79431) in constellation Sco.
Etymology and History
Sharjah is the cultural capital of United Arab Emirates, and considered the city of knowledge due to its many educational centers, institutes, museums, libraries, and heritage centers.
Mythology

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2019/12/17.
