Lerna is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Greek. It is the name of HAT-P-42 in constellation Hya.
Etymology and History
Lerna was the name of a lake in the eastern Peloponnese, where the Lernaean Hydra, an immortal mythical nine-headed beast lived. The star lies in the constellation of Hydra.
Mythology

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2019/12/17.
