Felis is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Latin. It is the name of HIP 48615 (HR 3923) in constellation Hya.

Etymology and History

Felis (The Cat) is the name of a constellation invented by Lalande. The name is applied to one star in the area that the constellation covered.
