The form is either an irregular plural with of the Akkadian masc. noun takkšu, or fem. plural of a singular fem. term takištu with the same meaning as takšu (masc.), Another possibility is that the form takšātu is treated as a plural dual (which takes the same plural ending as fem.) even though takšātu refers to three items. Cf. MAŠ.TAB.BA for māšu (sing.) māšātu (dual). See MUL ša2 mašātī "The Doublets'," "Pair (of stars).
