Göktürk is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Anadolu in the constellation of Pegasus. Suggested by the country of Turkey, it follows the name theme Names for the oldest settlements and ancient names for the lands on the Anatolian peninsula in Turkish language.

Etymology and History

Göktürk refers to the historical origin of the Turkish people, as it was the first established state in Turkey in 5th century AD. It is also the name of a Turkish satellite and is the combination of two words, of which 'Gök' means sky.

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
