mulĒdu (𒀯𒂊𒁺) is the Akkadian for Sumerian mulDILI (𒀯𒀸), Sumerian dili being a writing for the number one, here as a numeral adjective, 'single, solitary, unique.'. It is used in reference to single stars in multi-star asterisms. For example, (Kurtik d07) DILI, (Kurtik d08) DILI ša2 KUN-šu2., 'the single star in its (UR.GU.LA's) tail' (GU-text, J).

Concordance, Etymology, History[1]

The Akkadian equivalent to mul/múlDILI, "separate, single, (unique) star"; in the names of ziqpu stars VI, XXIV.

Historical Dictionaries
