Tapecue is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Guarani. It is the name of HIP 38041 (HD 63765) in constellation Car.

Etymology and History

Tapecue means eternal path in Guarani and represents the Milky Way through which the first inhabitants of the Earth arrived and could return.

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2019/12/17.
