Ukdah is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 47431 (ι Hya, HR 3845) in constellation Hya.

==Etymology and History==

Kazwini knew the stars tau<sup>1</sup>, tau<sup>2</sup> Hya as عقدة ʽuqdah (or ʽuḳdah), Arabic "knot". Rhoads (1971) considers this asterism consisting of four stars: tau<sup>1</sup>, tau<sup>2</sup>, 33, and ι Hya.
