mulIliabrat (𒀯𒉌𒇷𒀊𒋥) together with PAP.SUKKAL are viziers of the goddess Inanna=Ishtar whose astronomical guise is, of course, Venus. Both viziers have affiliations, direct and indirect, with 'The Faithful Shepherd of Heaven'.

Concordance, Etymology, History[1]

= mul / dIlabrāt;

a deity apparently of Asia Minor origin and associated with the constellation of the Faithful Shepherd of Anu [AHw[2], 7a; Gössmann[3] 195; HBA[4], 109-110; Tallqvist 1938[5], 323; von Soden 1957[6], 314]. For this Iliabrat with Papsukkal in the context of Orion in astro-mythological contexts see [Horowitz 2014[7]: 67-68; Beaulieu et al. 2018[8]: 49-50, 58-59].

  • mulI3-li2-ab-[rat] = dmin(= dIštaran)  "Ilabrat = Ištaran" [Mesop.Astrol.[9], App. B:81; Livingstone 1986[10], 137].
Example
"Planisphere K 8538."
  • Sector 3: [dPap-sukkal] sukkal AN.NA <u> dIš-tar dI3-li2-ab-rat mulSipa.zi.an.na a "Papsukal, messenger of Anu (and) Ištar, Ilabrat, Faithful Shepherd of Anu" [Koch 1989[11], 56, Abb. 2; 59]; for a parallel without mention of Ilabrat, see MUL.APIN I ii 2 (see Kurtik s22 SIPA.ZI.AN.NA).

Additional

         From the Kassite period dIlabrāt was identified with Papsukal [von Soden 1957, 314; Nougayrol 1947, 30, note 2; Weidner 1924-25, 13, Kol. II 12], and as a star was apparently identical with mulSipa.zi.an.na.

Historical Dictionaries

Kurtik (2022, i01) Gössmann (1950)
= mul / dIlabrāt; божество, имеющее, по-видимому, малоазийское происхождение и связанное с созвездием Праведный Пастух Ану [AHw, 7a; G. 195; HBA, 109–110; Tallqvist 1938, 323; von Soden 1957, 314].

«Большой список звезд». mulI3-li2-ab-[rat] = dmin(= dIštaran) «Илабрат = Иштаран» [Mesop.Astrol., App. B:81; Livingstone 1986, 137]. «Планисфера К 8538». Сектор 3: [dPap-sukkal] sukkal AN.NA <u> dIš-tar dI3-li2-ab-rat mulSipa.zi.an.na «Папсукаль, посланник Ану (и) Иштар, Илабрат, Праведный Пастух Ану» [Koch 1989, 56, Abb. 2; 59]; параллель без упоминания Илабрат см. в MUL.APIN I ii 2 (s22SIPA.ZI.AN.NA).
