Axólotl is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Nahuatl. It is the name of HIP 118319 (HD 224693) in constellation Cet.

Etymology and History

Axólotl means water animal in the native Nahuatl language, which is a unique and culturally significant endemic amphibious species from the basin of Mexico.
