Sagarmatha is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Nepali. It is the name of HIP 56572 (HD 100777) in constellation Leo.

Etymology and History

Sagarmatha is the Nepali name for the highest peak in the world (also known as Mount Everest) and symbol of national pride of Nepal.
