ulNE.GAR (𒌌𒉈𒃻) is an ancient Mesopotamian asterism.IGI

ulIZI.GAR = Akkadian nūru 'Light', dipāru 'Torch,' occurs in a circular astrological diagram from late-period Uruk. It may be best understood as a name for Mars in this context. See the next two entries CAD[1] D 156-157????????????????????????

Concordance, Etymology, History[2]

Var. reading:

  • IZI.GAR;
  • = nūru 'Light',
  • dipāru 'Torch';

the name occurs only in the circular diagram [TCL 6[3], 13 i; Rochberg-Halton 1987b[4], 224-226, reprinted Rochberg 2010[5]: 129-131]. Possibly an epithet of Mars.

Historical Dictionaries

вар. чтения: IZI.GAR; = nūru «Свет», dipāru «Факел»; название встречается только в круглой диаграмме [TCL 6, 13 i; Rochberg-Halton 1987b, 224–226]. Возможно, эпитет Марса. Example
