Aniara is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is fictional. It is the name of HIP 57820 (HD 102956) in constellation UMa.
Etymology and History
Aniara is the name of a spaceship in the epic poem Aniara by Swedish author Harry Martinson.
Mythology
