Kalausi is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Dholuo. It is the name of HIP 47202 (HD 83443) in constellation Vel.
Etymology and History
The word Kalausi means a very strong whirling column of wind in the Dholuo language of Kenya.
Mythology

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2019/12/17.
