Jabbah is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 79374 (ν Sco, HR 6027) in constellation Sco.

Etymology and History

The name was considered popular by WGSN as mentioned in Allen (1899): "in the Century Cyclopaedia, perhaps from its being one of the mansil Iklil al Jabbah".

Mythology

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2017/06/30.
