Negoiu is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Moldoveanu in the constellation of Corona Borealis. Suggested by the country of Romania, it follows the name theme Names of prominent peaks of the Făgăraș Mountain Range, representing the highest mountains in Romania.
Etymology and History
Negoiu is the second highest peak in Romania of the Făgăraș mountain range with an altitude of 2535 metres.
Mythology
IAU Working Group on Star Names
The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
