Mazalaai is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Mongolian. It is the name of the star HAT-P-21 in constellation UMa.

Etymology and History

Mazaalai is the Mongolian name for the endangered Gobi bear subspecies (Ursus arctos gobiensis) of the Gobi Desert region of Mongolia, and the name of the first Mongolian satellite.
