Kaewkosin is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Thai. It is the name of GJ 3470 in constellation Cnc.
Etymology and History
Kaewkosin (แก้วโกสินทร์) refers to the crystals of the Hindu deity Indra in the Thai language, alluding to the ancient belief that the stars were gemstones.
