Cervantes is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Spanish. It is the name of HIP 86796 (μ Ara, HR 6585) in constellation Ara.
Etymology and History
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (1547-1616) was a famous Spanish writer and author of "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha".
