Funi is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Icelandic. It is the name of HIP 61177 (HD 109246) in constellation Dra.

Funi is an old Icelandic word meaning fire or blaze.
