mul / dZappu (𒀯𒈽𒀖𒁍) 'the bristle,' is the standard Akkadian name for the Pleiades. In this case, the Pleiades being the mane of Taurus, the Bull.

"Stubble (Mane)," an Akkadian parallel to MUL.MUL "Star Cluster" in lexical texts;
The translation in English is usually given as "the bristle", singular, but the Akkadian term actually refers to a bunch of hair or several bristles.
