Kang is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Chinese. It is the name of HIP 69427 (κ Vir, HR 5315) in constellation Vir.

Etymology and History

Determinative star of lunar mansion Kang (The Neck) whose naming constellation consists of 4 stars according to sources back to the 3rd millennium BCE.
