Pagru, The Dead Man or Corpse, is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Akkadian. It is the name of the star η Aql in constellation Aquila.

Concordance, Etymology, History

The Sumerian/ Akkadian constellation AD6/ Pagru is attested since the middle of the 2nd millennium BCE.

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name Pagru was discussed and adopted by the IAU WGSN in June 2026.
