GAL.A.RU.RU

dGAL.A.RU.RU (𒀭𒃲𒀀𒊒𒊒; Great Aruru) is a name for the goddess Ištar of the Stars, namely Venus: An astral manifestation of the Venus-type goddess Aruru (Black 2005).[1]

Epithet of Venus [G. 63]; in the identity:
- dGAL.A.RU.RU = MIN(= diš8-tar2 MUL.<MEŠ>)
- "Great Aruru = Goddess of the stars" [CT 25, 31, K. 2109+:17].
Aruru, the ancient mother goddess responsible for the birth and fate of people, the name is present already in the early lists of the gods, see. [MНM I,[3] 109; Tallqvist 1938, 256, 309; Weidner 1924-25, 78, Kol. 7:1].
