Propus

Propus is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Greek. It is the name of HIP 29655 (η Gem, HR 2216) in constellation Gemini, The Twins (Gem).
Etymology and History
Applied in Renaissance times from the Greek word πρόπους, "forward foot", used by Ptolemy in the Almagest in describing this star. The term is even used by Hipparchus, 260 years earlier than Ptolemy.

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2016/07/20.
