mulDI (𒀯𒁲) = dīnum 'judgment, sentence,' is a Sumerian name for the constellation and zodiacal sign Libra. The name reflects the notion of Libra being 'the scales of justice.' The standard name for this asterism is Zibānītu, 'The Scales.'

  • CT 33 9: mulZibānītu occupies the position Anu X, which is that of mulDI in Nv. 10, both names being terms for Libra. Cf. LBAT 1502: 12' where [mulzi-ba-ni-t]u4 is the Antagubba-star for Month X, and LBAT 1508: 7' where the star-name is restored six months away as the Antašurra-star for Month IV (Fincke 2025: 70-72).

Additional

In [Donbaz-Koch 1995[4], 65-66, 71] the constellation is counted (erroneously?) among the stars of Enlil, while mulZI.BA.AN.NA is the star Anu, according to MUL.APIN (I ii 11) [MA[5], 33] (see Kurtik z07 ZI.BA.AN.NA).
