Butterfly Star is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is modern astrophysics, English language, due to the appearance in infrared. It is the name of the YSO IRAS 04302+2247 in constellation Taurus.
