Angetenar is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 13288 (τ2 Eri, HR 850) in constellation Eri.
Etymology and History
Derived from the Arabic Al Ḥināyat an-Nahr, 'the Bend in the River', based on Arabic Almagest translations.
