Beid is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 19587 (ο1 Eri, HR 1298) in constellation Eri.
Etymology and History
Applied in recent times from the ind-A name al-baid, "the Eggs", for unspecified dim stars around the ind-A ostrich's nest.
