Chamukuy is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Yucatec. It is the name of HIP 20894 (θ² Tau, HR 1412) in constellation Tau.

Etymology and History

The Yucatec Maya identify Theta Tauri as chamukuy, the name of a small bird.
