Kaan is Mayan constellation for snake.
Etymology and History
This animal, Kaan, is present through many species in the Central America environment, but the one represented in the Paris codex is thought to be the Rattlesnake, because of the ending of the tail which shows the typical rattling ending of this reptile.[1][2]
