Origin of Constellation
Ván is the river that flows from the mouth of Fenris after the Æsir bound him and inserted a sword into his jaws (Sturluson 2017[1], p. 44). Its proximity to Thor in this model is notable, as wading through rivers is a typical Thor motif (Lorenz 1984[2], p. 253).
