Sanskrit (संस्कृतम्, saṃskṛtam) is an ancient and classical Indo-Aryan language of India, serving as the primary liturgical language in Hinduism and a scholarly language in Buddhism and Jainism. It is considered one of the oldest recorded languages in the world, with its earliest form, Vedic Sanskrit, dating back to roughly 1500 BCE. It is still used today.
